Microids sets up its own distribution structure!

Starting in 2021, the French video game publisher will benefit from an in-house distribution entity!

Paris, December 18th, 2020 – Microids, major player of the video game industry, continues its development and strengthens its expansion strategy with the creation of a distribution structure: Microids Distribution France. This new entity will allow Microids to work directly with the French territory distribution sector players.

Historically renown for adventure games, Microids is now more diverse than ever, with a catalog built around 4 pillars: adventure games, racing titles, retro gaming and strong IPs. Microids’ 2020 line-up is one of the most impressive to date with titles such as the Gear.Club Unlimited series, Who Wants to be a Millionaire, XIII and three classics from the Oddworld franchise. In addition, Microids also launched this year the new My Universe label, targeting youngsters excited to jump into their dreamed adult life, as well as the signing of two major projects: Tintin and The Smurfs.

With a yearly average growth above 50% in the past 4 years, the French publisher starts a new chapter of its expansion with the creation of the new entity: Microids Distribution France.

Microids Distribution France will cover all of Microids needs in terms of distribution in France and will be directly in touch with wholesalers, retailers and dedicated shops. Additionally, this new entity will not limit itself to Microids titles and will take care of partners’ games as well as the products of Plastoy, the licensed figurines specialist.

A dedicated team ready to score big!

To run Microids Distribution France, a new team is assembled. Under the supervision of Catherine Martin, this commercial team will manage the direct distribution of products in France, would they be from Microids, or an actual or future partner. With 25 years of experience in the video game industry, Catherine Martin, who recently joined Microids as Commercial Director for the French Speaking Countries says: “This is a wonderful adventure in the making! This new entity will allow us to work hand in hand with our retail partners and to tackle new challenges as we expand Microids’ range of activity”.

By adding this distribution entity to its structure, Microids increases its autonomy and is eager to demonstrate its know-how and expertise in this domain.
