Microids increases its international footprint with the opening of a German office

The French publisher also reports record revenues!

Paris, May 19th 2022 – In years past, Microids has been pursuing a winning editorial strategy giving the French publisher a key player status in the video game industry.

In 2021, the Microids group reported a revenue above 55 million USD and keeps expanding its catalog with internationally appealing intellectual properties. With 85% of revenues made outside of France and a growth above 60% between 2020 and 2021, Microids carries on with its growth strategy worldwide.

Microids is proud to announce today the opening of a representative office in Berlin, Germany. This new entity is an integrated part of Microids international expansion plan. The office will spearhead deals with key players of German speaking countries (Germany, Switzerland and Austria) as well as publishers and development studios in the region. The Microids group is already represented in Germany by Julien Renzaho, VP Sales & Business Development.

“With the setup of our own distribution network in France (MDF), the opening of two studios in Paris and Lyon as well as a minor stake in Osome Studio, these past two years have been decisive for the Microids group.” states Stéphane Longeard, CEO of Microids. “Even though the company has been around for 37 years, the new strategy initiated ten years ago allows the company to achieve historically high revenues, as well as a key player status in both the video game industry and in the figurines market with Plastoy. Over the last few years, Microids also opened representative offices in Japan and China (2019 and 2021 respectively), increasing our presence in Asia and broadening our catalog. This new entity in Germany will help us increase our growth in Europe significantly, and we’re very proud to entrust our esteemed collaborator Julien Renzaho for this crucial task.”

“Opening this new office in Berlin is a logical step for Microids’ growth, since the German speaking countries represent our second most important market in Europe after France” adds Julien Renzaho. “This allows us to strengthen our relationship with local development studios and establish closer ties to official German gaming institutions.”
